Native Planting, Seeding, & Landscaping

  • Install or enhance an existing flower bed with choice native plants to help butterflies, bees, and other pollinators thrive.

  • Install a rain garden to help manage water runoff on your property.

Everyone loves a beautiful flower garden, full of color and variety, but did you know that many landscaping favorites: day lilies, hostas, spireas, and hybrid perennials leave a lot to be desired from a pollinator’s perspective? In fact, some specialized hybrids have almost no pollen or seeds at all! For butterflies, bees, and birds that rely on nectar and pollen as food sources these sterile landscape staples are like staring at a painting: nice to look at but you can’t eat it. To encourage wildlife to visit your yard, it is far better to go native!

Contact us about installing a small or large butterfly garden to complement your existing landscaping. Our first-hand experience has taught us that many native plants make great landscape additions and bring living dynamism and action to your yard. Even an urban yard can be full of life.

Install a rain garden to help manage water runoff. These landscape accents can be beautiful in addition to providing a valuable function to your property.

Attention waterfront property owners: Many Wisconsin counties have cost-sharing grants available to help fund certain shoreline management practices and rain gardens are often included on lists of cost-sharing practices. These programs usually require a matching contribution of funds by the landowner, but can be a great way to help cover the cost of qualifying projects.
